Lummox Magazine Call for Submissions

The next issue of the LUMMOX (#2) will be published in November of this year. The theme for this issue is PLACE. It could be a physical location or a metaphorical one. Whatever PLACE means to you, that's what we want to see. We are looking for poetry (and it's okay if it's been previously published, just tell us where) that is 50 lines or less. You can send 2-3 poems but no more. We are also looking for essays on poetry craft or style; biographies on poets; well-written rants (must be poetry related) and reviews. In addition to that, LUMMOX #2 is looking for artwork and photography that is PLACE related.

Ad rates for LUMMOX #2 are reasonable, please ask if you'd like to advertise with us. LUMMOX is a large format (8 X 10 inch) book. Last year's issue featured the work of over 200 poets and was 236 pages long. For an example of #1 go to:

I start reading for the next issue on May 1st and stop on Aug. 1st. This year we are asking for a $10 donation to help defray the cost of producing this anthology (though anything will be gladly accepted)...you will get a copy of the issue if you are accepted. Foreign (outside the USA) contributors will receive an E-copy (PDF) of the issue. You can pay via our contribute banner at www.lummoxpress.com (PayPal) or by mail c/o PO Box 5301 San Pedro, CA 90733. Extra copies can be purchased for the wholesale price + shipping.
